So I am always on the lookout for a product that does what it says and can do it safely. I glanced at Rydol on the internet and knew that I had to try it. A soy based cleaner, bore conditioner and grease all fortified with PTFE and Boron Nitride. I got one of their firearm maintenance kits and tried it and I dont think I will use anything else but Magnalube (that is another review). Rydol products are both safe and natural as well as effective. I am pretty thorough when it comes to cleaning guns and I thought I did a good job but Rydol proved me wrong.
This is Kit 05100. It contains 4 oz A3 3-way Spray, 2 oz Bore Conditioner
and 1 oz extreme pressure grease.
First I ran a patch soaked in A3 through my 1911 with an Otis cleaning kit. With no scrubbing on a “clean” gun the patch came out black. I ran the patch through two more times spraying it each time with the A3 and each time it came out black. I then got my Kleenbore pistol rod and put a brass .45 brush on and sprayed it with A3. After working it through the bore a good 4-5 times I then ran another wet A3 patch through. After 3 passes with that I finally had a clean bore. By this time the PTFE and Boron Nitride from the Rydol A3 had begun to soak into the metal and really gave it a shine I had never seen before even when new. I then soaked a patch in their PTFE and Boron Nitiride bore conditioner and ran it through the barrel twice. I let it set for about 10 minutes and then ran a dry patch to remove the excess. I talked to Dave at Rydol about this and he said there is no need to let it sit.
I have not had the pleasure of shooting the guns I have treated with Rydol products yet but I can already tell they are going to be easier to clean. Once I have shot them I will give a report on the performance of Rydol Products.
